Kiwibikers

The Kiwibikes family spans the world

From our local six-year old World BMX Champion to the touring German who ordered a custom-made Jeffson; to our many championship riders; and to the mums, dads and their kids – anyone who likes to drop by for a yarn, check out some bling or splash out on a bike is a welcome Kiwibiker.

Below are some of the well-known and less-well-known Kiwibikers – and if you think your picture should be here, send it in!

Vanessa Quin

Vanessa was World Downhill MTB champ in 1994 and since motherhood has recently returned to track racing using a custom-made Jeffson. Read all about her and her teamwork with Kiwibikes here.

Simon Honour

Simon Honour

A New Zealand representative road cyclist and a top class mountain biker too.  Simon’s a part of the 2009 Waiariki Academy of Sport and more about him can be read here.

Richard Trask

richard trask

For those of you who use worktime as recovery time, spare a thought for Kiwibikes-sponsored Richard Trask – when he goes to work he runs RPM spin sessions at Rotorua’s Profiles Gym! A rider to watch.

Kat Lawton

Kat Lawson

Another modest Kiwibiker – with a long list of impressive credentials, she’s now very much a recreational rider having fun – so no trumpet-blowing here (but we suggest you Google her name and ‘Xterra’…)

Lachie McNab-Stevens

NZ age-group BMX champ Lachie Stevens-McNab is one of my favourite customers.

Click here for a recent Daily Post article about him and the Jeffson bike built for his attack on the 2010 World Champs in South Africa.(PDF)

Click here for the Daily Post account of his WIN!!  yee-hah!

Shanan Whitlock (the ultimate Kiwibiker)

Shanan Anderson

When we say Shanan has Kiwibikes in the blood, we mean it – Kiwibikes owner Jeff Anderson’s son Shanan is just as handy with tools as his dad – he’s not a pro-racer, he’s got a ‘real job’ as a cabinet maker.  But he can still wheelie all the way up Nursery Road!

Tobias the Kraut

This German was single-speeding on a tour of New Zealand when he passed through Rotorua and ordered a custom Jeffson frame! We’re allowed to called him ‘The Kraut’ by the way.

Steve Pattle and Bailey Jackson

Steve and his partner Bailey prove that ‘Cabin and Nic’ aren’t the only hot Rotorua mountain-biking couple.

Jonathan Dodd – Auckland refugee

Succumbed to Torpedo 7 and bought a Bianchi but admits he really wants a Jeffson. Moved from Auckland to be closer to the MTB tracks!

Steve McNab

RaftAbout operator by day, Trek-rider by night. His 6-year old is the current age-group NZ BMX Champion!

Jake Robinson

Just won the secondary-schools mountain-biking champs!

Matt Walker

A great rider in his own right but probably destined to always be known as ‘Sarah Walker’s brother’!  Sponsored by Transition bikes and seemingly in the shop as often as Jeff and Steve.

Anja & Tristam

Ride, race and love their Jeffson custom-built tandem.

Neil Poskitt

Pic of Neil from the 2010 Xterra where he was 3rd in his age group for the full-course solo event. Neil rides a Race X4″ travel bike.

Jane Williams

Jane Williams Titus

Rides a Titus, recently did well at the Crank Taupo event.

Craig Pattle

Craig started MTB racing in 1998, racing downhill at a national level and eventually winning ˜everything there was to win” in New Zealand in his best season as a junior in 2003. Later that year he started racing internationally, spending the next eight years racing downhill in Europe, competing in five World Championships and even more World Cup events.  Craig got onto the NZ BMX team in 2009 which unfortunately lead to an injury which put him off the bike for over a year. Now he’s older, wiser, and has even got a haircut and a real job (if working at Kiwibikes can be considered “work”).
