Don’t let the weather stats fool you! We may have more rainfall than many places but it falls less frequently – we have 20 more ‘dry days’ than Auckland each year!
Plus the awesome pumice soil that most of our mountain bike tracks are laid on means that they drain away pretty fast.
So check the weather here if you’re planning a ride.

It’s also worth noting that some mountain bike tracks handle the rain much better than others. Some are great (Soakhole & Genesis) and others not so good (Tuhoto Ariki).
