Rotorua Tracks

Rotorua Mountain-Biking Track Videos

Various good people have used their helmet cams to video their favourite Rotorua mountain bike tracks, so we’ve collated some of the best of them here for you.

Split Enz
One of the best in the forest – fast, flowing, well groomed long downhill. Not very technical but great fun. Always worth the climb up Moerangi Rd to get to it. The climb keeps heavy traffic off it so it’s usually in great condition.

Corners
Thanks to track builder Jeff Carter you don’t need to be a crazy downhiller to enjoy some wicked downhill in Rotorua. Corners track is well named – a fantastic collection of hairpins and fun stuff. Seldom gets too muddy.

The Dipper and Tahi
Just to demonstrate how Rotorua caters to all levels, this lovely video of how some littlies can still love our trails. A great trip for Mum, Dad and the kids! Note that if you crank up the speed these entry-level tracks can still be great fun, and are well marked for night-riding.

Be Rude Not To
Wickedly good track – starts off with some quick technical stuff them opens into some fast flowing downhill with just enough short sharp climbs to keep you honest. Latter half some nice twisting rooty riding. Seldom very muddy.

Double-down, Pigeon Run and the ‘jumps track’ (Little Red Riding Huck & Huckleberry Hound)
Nicely put together collection of the more adventurous tracks.

Billy-T
One of the best tracks in the forest and thanks to some great grooming seldom very muddy. Fast semi-technical not-too-steep downhill – but keep alert or the roots will get you!

Huckleberry Hound
Nicely put together video starting off with the South Star Shuttle trip to the top. Great jump track but do-able even for the non-jumpers amongst you.

Exit Track
Always a blast and a good reason to enter the forest from Long Mile Rd – you get this as your final run for the day! Not as tricky as it looks.
